Of late, I have been witnessing a very disturbing increase in the crime against females, be a girl child, a teenager, or an adult woman. It has almost become the order of the day. Newspapers are replete with such news. No doubt, India has been placed at parity with Afghanistan as the worst countries for a female to born in. Sometimes, I guess, had it been there in the past too but very less reported?.. or the mind set of the Indian male is becoming less human, devoid of any compassion and respect for the other gender, and is also becoming fearless of the Indian Law!
So, I fancied an idea to let the world know the dark side of "Being a Female in India."
Let there be the consciences shaken, people of all walks do some soul searching..take a pause and raise their voice, wherever they are, against the atrocities being meted out to girls and women, with a result that cruelity against the female gender starts receding, and we give to our generations to come a society where a woman is respected in its true essence-as as wife, as a sister, as a mother, as a grand mother et al..is the sole objective of this blog.
Amen.

Was key witness' testimony diluted? 12 Jun 2012, 0913 hrs IST

Her story outraged the nation, 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra a budding tennis player allegedly raped and molested and her family tortured and humiliated till the trauma became too much to bear forcing her to commit suicide. But 19 years later unable to deal with the ordeal her family has given up the fight for justice, tired of the red-tapism in the system.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) choosing to remain silent yet again closing the case 10 days ago and even as the helpless family of Ruchika resigned quietly to their fate, the key witness in the case making an explosive revelation. Vijay Dheer, key witness, said, They asked me about Ashu Girhotra and I told them that he was paraded half naked and was then left outside his house. At that time he was totally unconscious.

Expressing his shock over the way the probe has been conducted daring the CBI to come out with the real truth. Dheer, said, “I am astonished to hear that. I have seen the CBI closure report also. They wasted my seven hours, and I told them that such wrongdoing was committed by them and they tortured both the girl and the boy. Everyone knows but no one wants to talk about it because they are scared.

But no explanation being proffered yet as to why the CBI choose to look the other way when allegations of torture in police custody were made by Ruchika's brother. But with TIMES NOW refusing to let this gross injustice be forgotten, the chorus of voices across the nation demanding justice for Ruchika only seems to be growing. For how long can the Government continue to ignore the din of protest?
