Of late, I have been witnessing a very disturbing increase in the crime against females, be a girl child, a teenager, or an adult woman. It has almost become the order of the day. Newspapers are replete with such news. No doubt, India has been placed at parity with Afghanistan as the worst countries for a female to born in. Sometimes, I guess, had it been there in the past too but very less reported?.. or the mind set of the Indian male is becoming less human, devoid of any compassion and respect for the other gender, and is also becoming fearless of the Indian Law!
So, I fancied an idea to let the world know the dark side of "Being a Female in India."
Let there be the consciences shaken, people of all walks do some soul searching..take a pause and raise their voice, wherever they are, against the atrocities being meted out to girls and women, with a result that cruelity against the female gender starts receding, and we give to our generations to come a society where a woman is respected in its true essence-as as wife, as a sister, as a mother, as a grand mother et al..is the sole objective of this blog.

Minor girl gang raped in Borsad, five held TNN | Jun 1, 2012, 11.07PM IST


VADODARA: Five people have been arrested for allegedly gang raping a 15-year-old girl in Borsad taluka of Anand district.
The incident came to light late on Thursday night when the victim with her maternal uncle approached Anand police stating that five people had gang raped her on different occasions between May 26 and May 31.
The five accused were arrested by Borsad police station immediately. Police said the victim, a native of Haripura Sevrapura village in Khambhat taluka of Anand district, stays at her maternal uncle's house located behind Kathana Khodiyar temple in Borsad.
As per the girl's statement given to police, on May 26, she had boarded an auto-rickshaw from Dharmaj chowkdi to reach Borsad town to meet her boyfriend, who is a resident of Borsad town.
When other passengers, who were travelling in the same auto-rickshaw, got off, the rickshaw driver Javed Khan alias Khanna took her to a snack stall in Borsad. Later, the auto-rickshaw driver took her to a farm on Bhadran road where she was first raped in presence of Khan's friend Mojudmiyan Malek.
The girl in her complaint said that she was taken to several places including Vasad, Asodar Chowkdi, Bhadran road, Bhadran canal road, by Javed, who called up three other friends at different timings.
According to girl's statement while Javed raped her thrice, Mojudmiyan raped her twice, Javed's another friend Nazeeruddin Malek raped her twice and their another accomplice Hidayat Pathan also raped her once till May 31. The police have also arrested one Mohammed Mukim alias Muko, who had allegedly tried to rape the girl but did not succeed.
The incident first came to light when cops of Anand police chowky spotted the girl near bus stand area. Anand police referred the case to Borsad police station, which contacted the girl's maternal uncle Ravji Solanki.
Fearing tension between communities in communally sensitive Borsad town, Anand police have made heavy bandobast in the town to avoid any untoward incident.
