Of late, I have been witnessing a very disturbing increase in the crime against females, be a girl child, a teenager, or an adult woman. It has almost become the order of the day. Newspapers are replete with such news. No doubt, India has been placed at parity with Afghanistan as the worst countries for a female to born in. Sometimes, I guess, had it been there in the past too but very less reported?.. or the mind set of the Indian male is becoming less human, devoid of any compassion and respect for the other gender, and is also becoming fearless of the Indian Law!
So, I fancied an idea to let the world know the dark side of "Being a Female in India."
Let there be the consciences shaken, people of all walks do some soul searching..take a pause and raise their voice, wherever they are, against the atrocities being meted out to girls and women, with a result that cruelity against the female gender starts receding, and we give to our generations to come a society where a woman is respected in its true essence-as as wife, as a sister, as a mother, as a grand mother et al..is the sole objective of this blog.
Amen.

Rapist husband created gang rape story TNN | Jun 30, 2012, 11.12PM IST

SURAT: Investigations into a gang rape complaint registered at Saputara police station on Monday have revealed that the victim was allegedly raped by her husband who had gone on to create a fake story to save himself. The police have arrested the accused on charges of rape.
The arrest came after it was found that the husband Kishan Pawar (28) had allegedly raped his 24-year-old wife twice on Monday evening at their residence in Sanuniya village near Saputara. The couple was allegedly drunk and his wife had refused to have sex after which Pawar had thrashed her. Pawar had allegedly gagged her and then raped her. She is said to have sustained severe injuries. She was taken to a hospital for treatment from where police came to know about the incident. The victim was shifted to New Civil Hospital (NCH) at Surat for further treatment.
It was during questioning that the police became suspicious about the behaviour of the husband who claimed that his wife had been raped by four labourers. He told them that four labourers were waiting near their village as their vehicle had developed a technical snag. They had come to his house. He had even given a Maharashtra registration number of the vehicle. He told police that he had gone to buy grocery to cook food for the labourers. On return he found that his wife had been raped. The wife had also corroborated the story while saying that she was not sure of the number of people who had raped her.
Police sources said that sustained interrogation lead the husband to confess that he committed the crime.
